In this workshop participants made two-dimensional collages out of cut out magazines and then puppeteer those elements on a tabletop video set up.
A healthy combination of cut-out magazine photos, newspaper clippings, textured paper and fabric create the backgrounds, characters and collage elements. The collage elements are then animated using brass clamps, string, tape, popsicle sticks, and rods to allow many hands to perform together. It is a table top improvised narrative that often comes together much like the images of a dream. Participants receive a DVD of their creation after this or any other workshop using video.
