The Travelling Puppet Workshop is an organization that sends a team of people around the world setting up puppet workshops and sharing the poignant expression of puppetry. This project is in motion right now and welcomes collaborations, teammates and new projects.
The first Travelling Puppet Workshop is "The Deluge Project", which explores the ubiquitous myth of the Great Flood. This ancient myth has hundreds of versions but the basic themes are common to all of our oldest cultures. This workshop will set up shop in galleries, theaters and schools for two or three weeks, creating puppets, masks, and performances that illustrate distinctive local versions of the Deluge Myth. These puppet shows will be filmed and shared together through festivals, internet and gallery.
